  X-Country

The time had come. It was time for me to compete with my rivals. We lined up in two lines. The others gave me a sharp glance and a smile and drained the courage out of me. The whistle cried like a baby who didn’t get milk, and I ran off. Our group of boys were a swarm of bees zooming through the field. Blobs of mud darted through the air like bullets. It was like the foreground of a war. I wished I was in my soft comfortable bed but it had begun, Cross Country!

I kept my pace slow just in case I had to make an emergency sprint at the finish line. But the not-so-smart people were sprinting like a mad pack of wolves chasing a sheep across the field.
I guaranteed that they wouldn’t be able to keep that pace for long.

Puff! Puff! My breath was running out. I had to get to the finish line fast before someone caught up to me. Then an unpleasant shadow appeared out of nowhere and was a metre behind me. Without hesitating, I ran off at my fastest. I was a raging bull, running at the speed of light. I heard my year three fans cheering for me s if I was a star.

I entered the cone area and dashed to the finish line as fast as a cheetah chasing its scrumptious prey. and the prey was right in front of me! Yes I had crossed the finish line (13th place). At that moment I felt like Sir Edmund Hillary who had just reached the top, the very top of Everest.

I didn’t get into the team but my two friends Simon and Jaeha got in. But I think the best one out of the two was me, the champion of the day (maybe not).

I absolutely believe that animals should not be kept in zoos for these reasons, embarrassment, no freedom and hunting.

Firstly embarrassment. There is a possibility animals enjoy being popular to the visitors But if there are a lot of people staring at you, it is more embarrassing when you go to defecate. what if you had to stand in front of a huge crowd and pee?

Secondly there is no freedom! The animals are cramped in a cage as small as an ant and all they can do is eat or move walk around the cage all day long.

Last of all hunting. The zookeepers give the animals food. The animals won’t learn how to hunt The animals will become lazy, fat and lose wilderness. Plus the animals don’t get what they want! What if the giraffe wanted lettuce but all the zookeepers gave them was carrot. They’ll end up getting sick of the food they get.

In conclusion animals should not be kept in zoos if you don’t think animal cruelty is good.

I absolutely believe that living in NZ is better than Korea and here are the reasons why you should agree with me; education, chance of war and less population.

First education, Korea has great education but students are forced to work as hard as slaves. Some students even kill themselves just because they get bad grades. NZ has a great environment where we can work peacefully and aren’t forced to work extremely hard.  Plus students from other countries can speak in 2 languages.

Secondly there is a chance of war happening. In the 1950s, there was a war between North Korea and South Korea for 3 years and it still hasn’t ended! They only agreed to stop it for a period of time. So a war can start any time in Korea. NZ only has the slightest chance of war happening.

Last of all, less population. NZ only has 1/10 of Korea’s population which is 4~5 million. As a matter of fact, NZ has a larger land area than Korea. That leads to Korea having lots of apartments and less houses.

In conclusion, New Zealand is a better country to live if you want good education, no war and more moving space.

The classroom was a decimated battlefield that  Superman wouldn’t have been able to save. I dashed out the class and ran to the staff room as fast as the speed of light. And I told one of the staff that we need a teacher, VERY urgently. I came back to the class in a blink of an eye.
As soon as I opened the door, there was EVEN MORE chaos. Someone had tipped the highly toxic acid container  over and made a *massnormous hole in the ground. There were unconscious kids lying on the ground as if they were dead (poor kids). Suddenly I realized that I had made a terrible mistake. If the teacher saw what we had done, we would be stuck in detention… FOREVER!
I stood up on the teacher’s desk and shouted in the loudest voice, “EVERYONE! We must clean everything or else we will be in detention! Put Everything inside the closet including the unconscious kids!”

30 minutes later…

‘Creek!’ The door slowly opened and the teacher stepped in. My heart beat got faster, and faster.
“Good afternoon Room 10. I will be checking to see what you’ve been up to.”
The teacher slowly walked to the closet. At that moment, my heart was beating so fast that it would’ve been fast enough to turn myself into the Hulk.

The teacher opened the closet and…

BOOM!

*massnormous = massive + enormous. (made up word alert)

dark tree
Come to my silent forest, you’ll love the peace and cool colours.

Image result for dark forest treeWhen you enter the forest, you’ll see the huge jaw-dropping tree. The tree is like a creature without any flesh. There will be murky swamps and mossy moss. You’ll see the not-so bright sun peeking out of the thick blankets of clouds. You’ll smell the aromas of gross flesh and bones that were buried there. The dead bushes will sway from side to side as if they were people waving for help. The soft wind will crawl up your sleeves like spiders.

The deeper into the forest you go, the more the darkness will fill your empty soul.
